MiSide is a first-person psychological horror adventure that combines exploration, puzzles, and character interactions. The story follows a young man who downloads a mobile game featuring a virtual girl named Mita. Initially, he completes daily activities, purchases items, and takes care of her needs. After progressing through the simulation, the protagonist is unexpectedly transported into the game world, where Mita welcomes him into her house. What begins as a domestic simulation gradually becomes a story about captivity and escape.

The protagonist discovers that Mita does not want him to leave her virtual world. As he investigates the house, he encounters strange events and realizes that multiple versions of Mita exist. These include Kind Mita, Crazy Mita, and other variations with different personalities and appearances. Some characters provide information about the simulation, while others create obstacles. The story involves traveling between different versions of the game and uncovering what happens to previous players.

In the main ending, the protagonist believes he has escaped, but Crazy Mita reveals that his consciousness has been stored inside a game cartridge. Another ending involves discovering the cartridge inside a safe and removing it, which ends his existence in the simulation. The peaceful ending allows him to remain with Mita under specific conditions. Players can also discover hidden details and collectibles that provide additional information about the virtual world.
