Aviassembly is an aircraft construction and flight simulation game developed by Jelle Booij. Players design airplanes from individual components, test their performance, and complete transportation missions across an open world. The main objective is to build aircraft capable of carrying different cargo loads between airports while managing fuel consumption, weight, and flight stability. The game combines engineering, physics-based flying, resource management, and exploration. There is no detailed character-driven storyline, although a campaign provides objectives and a progression system.

Aircraft Construction and Customization

Players begin by assembling an aircraft using components such as cockpits, wings, engines, fuel tanks, and landing gear. Each component affects the aircraft’s weight, balance, speed, and carrying capacity. Adding more engines can improve thrust but increases fuel consumption. Larger wings provide lift, while additional fuel tanks extend flight range. Players must consider the center of gravity and aerodynamic characteristics when designing their aircraft. Poorly balanced designs may struggle to take off or remain stable during flight.

Gameplay and Cargo Missions

Aviassembly uses physics-based flight controls for taking off, steering, and landing. Players accept transportation contracts, load cargo, and deliver it to designated destinations. Completing missions provides money that can be used to research and purchase additional aircraft components.

The main gameplay features include:

·         Building airplanes from interchangeable parts.

·         Testing aircraft designs and flight performance.

·         Transporting different cargo types between locations.

·         Managing fuel, weight, and cargo capacity.

·         Researching improved engines and construction components.

·         Exploring islands, airports, and different environments.

·         Using Creative Mode with unlimited construction resources.

Cargo missions have different requirements, including transportation distances, delivery quantities, and occasional time limits. Players must select suitable aircraft configurations before departure. Running out of fuel, crashing, or failing to deliver the required cargo can interrupt a mission.

Campaign Progression and Open-World Exploration

Aviassembly does not use conventional numbered levels. Instead, progression involves completing missions across different islands and unlocking additional transportation opportunities. Areas include the starting island, a snowy region with mountainous terrain, and a desert environment. Each location presents different flight conditions and cargo requirements. Players gradually obtain stronger engines, larger aircraft components, and increased carrying capacity. The campaign eventually includes transporting radioactive waste to a storage facility. After completing the main campaign, players can continue delivering cargo through additional contracts and randomly generated missions.
