DLC Bloody Painter Dating Sim Valentine is a short visual novel that continues the story of Bloody Painter Dating Sim. It takes place after Ending 4-4, “Madman’s Home,” so its events assume the player already knows that outcome. The protagonist now lives with Bloody Painter, a serial killer, and regards the arrangement as ordinary because they share a similar outlook. The episode takes place on Valentine’s Day.
The Valentine’s Day Story
The plot centers on whether Bloody Painter has planned anything for the occasion and how the two characters behave while living together. Unlike the original game’s seven-day captivity premise, this chapter follows an established relationship. Conversations and domestic scenes carry the narrative, with attention directed toward the couple rather than escape. The DLC offers one ending, not a set of alternate story routes.
How the Game Works
Players progress by reading dialogue and advancing illustrated scenes, as in other visual novels. The experience is story-led rather than combat-focused: there are no enemies to fight, maps to explore, or numbered levels to clear. The episode is designed as one short chapter of approximately twenty minutes, and progress is measured by reaching the end of its narrative.
The main gameplay features include:
- Advancing dialogue to follow the Valentine’s Day story.
- Viewing four new CG illustrations during the narrative.
- Listening to fully voiced English conversations.
- Using the text-history feature to review earlier lines.
- Replaying voiced dialogue when needed.
The character presentation includes animated sprites and larger interface text, while the dialogue history and voice replay functions make it possible to revisit material without restarting the entire episode. These features are useful when a player wants to check a previous line or hear a performance again. They support the same linear visual novel structure rather than introducing separate gameplay challenges.
Connection to the Original Ending
To understand the events, players should complete “Madman’s Home” in the main game first. That ending establishes the circumstances behind the protagonist’s life with the killer, and this additional chapter explores what happens afterward. The Valentine’s Day setting changes the immediate focus to their daily relationship, but the characters’ history remains part of the context. There are no independent stages or new branching endings to unlock; finishing the story completes the DLC.
